Choosing Your Wedding Flowers

Your wedding bouquet and floral arrangement will be one of the highlights of your wedding. As people enter your venue, they will see flowers decorating the aisle. As your entourage enters, the visitors will notice the blossoms in the bridesmaids' hands. When you walk finally walk down the aisle, you will be clasping your bouquet in front of you. Some even practice the tradition of throwing petals over the nuptials as they leave the venue. Thus, in nearly all your wedding photographs, your flowers will be very noticeable. This means that care must be taken in choosing your wedding flowers.

There are flowers that bloom all year round while others are seasonal. However, florists have used various methods to make it possible for some flowers to grow out of season. They have also created various colours for different plants. As you choose colours, remember your overall wedding motif. You can make your flowers match or contrast with the colour of your gown. If your dress is white, then you can choose any hue, though it would be ideal to use a colour combination that will match the colour of your gown and that of your bridesmaids. Different shades of the same colour will also work well.

Remember you that you are not limited to using only one type of flower, though you may do so if you please. If you want to use two or three types, then tell your florist. You can choose roses, calla lilies, tulips, orchids, peonies, gerbera daisies and other types that you want to use. Specify, too, if you want specific flowers to be in buds, in half-bloom or in full blossom. Have a harmonious theme for all flowers, including table centrepieces and decor. However, your bouquet must be the star of the show.
