You and your future husband may be in the process of hunting for a place where you can live as a wedded couple. Perhaps, you are planning to move into his apartment in the first few months, or he will be moving into yours. However, a time will come in the life of every couple when they decide to get a more permanent place. Be it a condo unit, a town-home or a stand-alone house, this new abode will serve as the place where you will build a family and raise children.

When looking for a house or condo unit to buy, you need to consider various factors. Think far into the future. The place must suit not just new couples, but families as well. This means that you should not look at the structure alone. You must also consider the environment in the neighbourhood or locale. It must not have a high crime rate. You should also avoid areas where violence and drug abuse are prevalent. Try to learn, too, how often the area is hit by occurrences like earthquakes, typhoons, hurricanes and the like.

The facilities in and near your area must also be advantageous for rearing kids. A good property for a young family would be one that is within reasonable distance from a school, library, bus stop, train station, park and similar facilities. As a young couple, you might also want to have access to a fitness centre, mall, cinema and such places. In this case, a condo unit would be a great choice, as it usually comes with a gym and swimming pool. However, a stand-alone house would be a good choice, too.
