Your Budget Ceiling
Weddings costs can soar sky high. Still, do not lose heart. Know that there are people who have pulled off the wedding of their dreams without going bankrupt or debt-ridden. With clear limitations, organisation and open communication between you and your fiance can pull it all off. We at WeddingsSomerset have come up with a few tips to help you out.
1. Decide who will be paying. In different cultures all over the world, there are various traditions that dictate who must pay. At times, it is the parents of the bride. In other cultures, it may be the parents of the groom. It may also be the groom himself who is required to shoulder the expenses. These days, though, the bride and the groom usually share the expenses. They may or may not ask help from their parents.
2. Set a limit, and do not go beyond it. This limit should include a 10% allowance for unexpected costs.
3. Determine your guest list. You need to make an approximate count of how many people you will be inviting to the ceremony and the reception. This is important in deciding things like venue, food and others.
4. Increase your choices. For each need - flowers, food, venue, entertainment, vehicle, photography, tokens and many others - give yourself a variety of choices. Do not limit yourself to shops found in your area; go online, too. Ask friends married friends about the suppliers they hired during their wedding. Get price quotes, portfolios and samples so you can choose the companies that offer the best prices and quality.
5. Hire a wedding planner. Planners have an extensive network of suppliers whom they regularly work with, so they are most likely to have access to special deals and discounts.
